Jamine Dettmering

Jamine started working in human services in 2002 when she took her first job as a direct support professional working with folks with disabilities, mental illnesses, and traumatic brain injury. Jamine pursued her Master of Arts in Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP) while working as a treatment coordinator and behavior specialist under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Jamine relocated to Chicago to pursue her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis at TCSPP where she is currently a doctoral candidate.

Jamine received her BCBA certification in 2016 and has provided services in a variety of settings in the Chicagoland area, including home, school, community integrated living arrangements (CILA), community day services programs, hospitals, and foster care. Jamine is committed to providing trauma and culturally responsive ABA services centered on the values of the service recipient. She is passionate about client autonomy and believes in taking a harm-reduction approach to intervention. In addition to working with clients and their families through her work at BIOS ABA Consultants, Jamine disseminates compassionate and responsive practices by consulting with other BCBAs, mentoring former students and supervisees, offering training to organizations, presenting at conferences, publishing in various peer-reviewed journals, and working as an adjunct faculty at National Louis University and TCSPP.

Outside of work, you can often find Jamine trekking around the city or hanging on the beach with her two dogs, Edgar and Sirius. She also loves to connect with friends and family in intimate settings that allow for conversations about philosophy, mental health, and life things, and she enjoys taking road trips, checking out local coffee shops and restaurants, and playing board games.
