Maria (Isabel) Aguilar

Maria Isabel Aguilar first experienced the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Mental Illness was working as a Case Manager at UCP-Seguin. It was that experience that led her heart to discover a passion for working along side individuals in meeting their goals; whether it be learning a more efficient way to communicate wants and needs or becoming more independent in the community.

As a Behavior Therapist her goal is to meet with her clients and staff to find ways to reinforce desirable behaviors and reduce or eliminate behaviors that interfere with their ability to meet their fullest potential. She strives to build therapeutic and positive relationships with the individuals to better understand how she can assist in making their overall quality of life better.

She has worked with BIOS since 2018 as a Behavior Therapist. At BIOS she has had the privilege of working with dually diagnosed adults, assisting them to successfully meet both their behavioral and life goals. She is often seen as an invaluable and trusted resource for parents and support staff. One of her major strengths is her ability to form meaningful relationships with individuals and teams. She is a talented Behavior Analyst and fierce advocate for the people she supports.
